How to…

 

Deliver creatives

Delivering creatives is very simple, and you will receive instant feedback if the creative can be accepted or not.

  • Drag a creative file from your desktop to the dotted box on the creative placeholder. You can also click the dotted box on the creative placeholder to select a file.

  • After a short wait, you will see a preview of the creative on the placeholder. In the right panel you will see a validation report

  • If your creative can be accepted you’re done!

  • If your creative cannot be accepted you can upload a new creative.

 


Annotate creatives

You can annotate production orders to easily indicate where changes should be made.

  • Open the order by clicking the eye icon

  • Select the highlighter or frame annontation tool

  • Place annotation on the correct position

  • Enter a description

  • Submit annotations or approve with changes.

 


Approve creatives

Approving one or more creatives is simple.

  • Click the approve button for the order.

 


Upload visuals and assets

Visuals are sketches or “roughs” that are used to sketch how an ad should look. Assets are images, logos and copy files that should be used to compose the ad files. Both can be easily uploaded.

  • Select a creative placeholder for a producion order and open the Production tab in the side panel.

  • Click the ADD VISUAL button

  • Drag the visual file from your desktop to the drop zone in the left side of the screen or click the drop zone to browse for the visual file

  • Drag asset file(s) from the desktop to the dropzone under Assets in the right panel or click the drop zone to select asset file(s).

  • Press SUBMIT to save the assets without submitting the order or press SEND TO PRODUCTION to submit the order to the production department - no more assets can the be added.


Finding your way around

Below you will find an overview of the Campaign Portal. Please note that branding, colors and data displayed may differ from what you see on your own screen.

The order list

The left side of the screen is the order list. Orders, or line-items as they are also referred to, are listed below the header.

For each order there are different data about the order displayed.

Each order hold one or more creatives. To see the creatives of each order, simply press the up and down arrows at the right side of the order. This will open and collapse orders.

Creative placeholders

Inside an order, there are one or more placeholders to which creatives are or can be uploaded.

If a placeholder does not have a creative, a dotted box indicating the area to which a creative should be dragged is shown. Also the expected dimensions of the creative is show. The preview here is for an audio file.

At the bottom of the placeholder, the currently available tools are shown.

3rd party tags

The <> icon is used to open a dialog where a 3rd party tag can be entered.

Preview

The eye icon opens a larger preview of the creative. For placeholders that does not have a creative yet, an empty preview is opened. In here, it is possible to add a visual (subject to availability).

Download

The download icon is used to download the current version of the creative

Delete

The trashcan icon is used to delete the current version of the creative. If there are multiple creative versions, the next version will be displayed. If the placeholder does not have a creative, it will be deleted.


Preview

The preview screen shows a larger preview of the current creative.

 

 

The toolbar adapts to the nature of the creative. There will be different tools for print, multipage print and digital creatives.

Previewing Audio creatives

Audiofiles are shown as a visual representation of the sound level of the audio file.

For audio creatives a player bar is displayed below a visual representation of the audio levels. Here you can start and stop the playing of the audio file and go directly to a sequence of the audio file by dragging the vertical timer mark.

 

Previewing video creatives

For video creatives a player bar is displayed below a the video. Here you can start and stop the playing of the video file and go directly to a sequence of the audio file by dragging the vertical timer mark.

 

For sound output from both audio and video files, ADPOINT uses the sound settings of your computer.

 


Side panels

The side panel is organised in tabs, where each tab holds various information about the currently selected placeholder.

 

Content of the tabs varies from system to system. In addition, some feature depend on various system configuration and statuses. This means you may not be able to find the features shown here in the system you work with.

 

Not all tabs are visible all of the time. Only tabs that are relevant for the selected placeholder are shown.

Home

Shows a welcome message and typically a brief introduction to the Campaign Portal.

Do not show this welcome message as default tab

Set this switch to avoid showing the home panel as the default panel next time. This feature is controlled by setting a cookie.

 

Summary

Shows a summary of the most important information related to the selected placeholder.

Validation

The latest validation report (if available).

Adserver properties

I don't have a creative

Used when no creative can be provided. Often this is combined with a message in the Description field.

Pixel tracker

Used to enter a pixel tracker value (digital creatives only). This may also be used to overwrite existing pixel tracker values. If there are multiple creatives on the same order, the Pixel tracker information can be copied to all creatives using the double-check mark.

URL

Used to enter a URL associated with the creative. If there are multiple creatives on the same order, the URL information can be copied to all creatives using the double-check mark.

 

Details

Show a list of data about the currently selected

Press the Edit button to open the fields that are possible to edit. Typically these fields will be highlighted by a surrounding frame. Once edited, press SUBMIT button to send the updated date.

 

Validation

Contains the latest validation report (if available)

Validation reports are generally split in 3 sections:

Errors: one or more errors that prevent the creative from being accepted

Warnings: one or warning that can be accepted but may hinder correct reproduction of the creative at a later stage.

Information: A list of properties revealed in the creatives during the validation process.

 

Production

Used for managing general notes as well as visuals and assets.

Notes and Visual

In the notes field general notes can be entered.

Use the ADD VISUAL button to indicate that a visual will be added. Once clicked, a visual file may be uploaded in the left side of the screen. To remove a visual, press the REmove visual button.

Assigned Assets

This is a list of assets that have been uploaded to the order. The list is shown in upload order with the newest assets on top. Uploaded assets can be downloaded and deleted.

To upload assets, drag them to the drop area below the Assigned Assets list or click to select.

The SUBMIT button sends the uploaded assets to the server without changing the status. This means that more assets can be uploaded.

The SEND TO PRODuction button sends the uploaded assets to the server and changes the status. This means that the production department can start working on the order and no more assets can be uploaded until the order is opened for upload again.

 

Proof

The proof panel is used for indicating changes to the current creative.

Show reviewed annotations

Use this switch to show or hide annotations that have already been reviewed in a previous review cycle.

List of annotations

The list shows the annotations that have been added to the creative in the left side of the screen. For each annotation a text can be entered.

Click the palette to change the color of the annotation.

Click the trash can icon to delete the annotation.

An asset file can be connected to the annotation. Clicking the paper-clip icon opens a dialog where the asset can be selected. To delete the asset from the dialog, click the x-icon on the chip that shows the asset name.

Once the annotation has been saved or submitted, assets are available in the Assigned Asset list under the production panel.

Multi-page documents

For documents with multiple pages, it is also possible to show only the annotations that belongs to the current page. Annotations are tagged with a page number to make it easier to find out where they belong.

Annotating Audio creatives

For audio creatives a player bar is displayed below a visual representation of the audio levels. To add an annotation, use the player bar to navigate to the right sequence and add an annotation. In the annotation list, the timestamp is added to the annotation.

Annotating video creatives

For video creatives a player bar is displayed below a the video. To add an annotation, use the player bar to navigate to the right sequence and add an annotation. In the annotation list, the timestamp is added to the annotation.

Saving and submitting annotations

The SAVE button saves the annotations but does not change the status. This means that more annotation can still be added.

The SUBMIT button saves the annotations and changes the status which means that the design department can now start working on the order. Additional proofing is required.

The APPROVE WITH CHANGES button saves the annotations and changes the status which means that the design department can now start working on the order. Additional proofing is not required.

If an annotation is empty, that is there is no text or assets attached to the annotation, an error will be presented upon saving. Either add text, attach an asset or delete the empty annotation.

 

Versions

Shows a list of all versions of the creative.

Version list

This list shows the current and previous versions of the creative. The currently active version is indicated by a grey background.

It is possible to change the current version by clicking the three-dot menu on the version that should be current and select “Set new version”.

It is also possible to download the file belonging to each version.

 

Notes

A list of notes added by users. Notes can be either Public or Internal.

 

To add a note simply start typing in the notes field.

If the Public checkbix is checked, the note is visible for all users who can access the order.

If the Public checkbox is not checked, only internal users can see the note.

Click in Add note to save a note and open a new empty notes field

 

History

An eventlog showing all events for the current and previous versions of the creative.

 

Filter

Use this selection to show or hide events as follows:

All: Shows all events

System: Shows events that have been activated by the system.

User: Shows events that have been activated by the current user.

For each event the timestamp, user, process and the resulting status is shown.

Some events have an arrow that shows additional information generated by the event.

 

3. party

Shows field used for entering 3rd party information.

3rd party

Enter or paste the 3rd party tag here. Click the SUBMIT button to process the 3rd party tag.

Enter additional information in the Description and Pixel Tracker fields.

SG Code

Enter or paste the SG Code here. Click the SUBMIT button to process the SG Code tag.

Enter additional information in the Description, Pixel Tracker and URL fields.


Additional features

Cropping and scaling print creatives

If a print creative does not have the correct size, it is possible to either crop it or scale it. The cropping and scaling tools appear in the toolbar of the preview panel when a print creative has been uploaded.

Cropping

Cropping is used when a creative is too large compared with the booked dimensions. Cropping removes some of the artwork of the creative in order to make it fit within the boundaries of the booking.

 

To crop an image, enter the the preview page and press the cropping tool in the toolbar.

A yellow ruler appears on top and to the left of the creative. And a Cropping Summary Panel is shown to the right.

A dotted cropping box indicates the area that will still be visible after cropping. All artwork outside the cropping box is dimmed.

To change the cropping box, you have the following options:

  • Manually change the size of the cropping box by dragging the handles

  • Enter coordinates of the cropping box in the Cropping Summary Panel. The cropping box’s size and position changes accordingly.

  • Choose one of the cropping modes:

    • Manual: Used for setting the cropping box manually as described above

    • Full size: Used for resetting the cropping box to the full size of the creative

    • Booked size: Used for setting the cropping box size to the size of the booking. Hereafter it can be placed manually without changing its size.

  • Press Apply to confirm the cropping. A new preview will be shown in the preview area. Press CANCEL to leave the cropping tool without cropping the creative.

 

Scaling

Scaling is used when a creative should fill up the size of the booking. Scaling stretches or shrinks the creative in one or both dimensions and can be controlled to work in either proportional or non-proportional modes.

To scale an image, enter the the preview page and press the scaling tool in the toolbar. Upon choosing the preferred scaling tool, an updated preview is shown and a Scaling Summary Panel appears to the right.

There are 5 different scaling modes:

  • Scale to booked size: Scales the creative to fit the booked size. This may cause non-proportional scaling.

  • Proportional scale:

    • Proportionally scale to booked width: Scales the creative to match the booked width. The same scaling factor is applied to the height.

    • Proportionally scale to booked height: Scales the creative to match the booked height. The same scaling factor is applied to the width.

  • Non-proportional scale:

    • Non-proportionally scale to booked width: Scales the creative to match the booked width. No scaling is applied to the height.

    • Non-proportionally scale to booked height: Scales the creative to match the booked height. No scaling is applied to the width.

Press Apply to confirm the scaling. A new preview will be shown in the preview area. Press CANCEL to leave the scaling tool without scaling the creative.

Supported asset file types

In general, it is possible to upload virtually any file type as assets. However executable files and certain system files formats are not accepted. Local configuration may impact the file types accepted.

Tag sheets

For digital creatives it is possible to upload spreadsheet files containing multiple 3rd party tags. ADPOINT will automatically create placeholders for 3rd party tags found.
Not all tag sheet formats are supported. Please contact your system administrator if you have a tag sheet format that should be supported.

Language settings

The language can be selected by the menu in the top right corner (Subject to availability).
